Diving into the history of an Italian watchmaking excellence

Officine Panerai, the brand of hand-made Italian watches, this year celebrates 150 years of history. It leaves the international press breathless, with an immersion in the time and space, starting from the Florentine origins and then emerging in the present, with three new novelties: the LUMINOR DUE, the P9010 calibre on the Luminor Marina and Radiomir 1940 Minute Repeater Carillon.

On the 16th of May, inside the Goldoni Theater, the CEO, Mr Angelo Bonati, presented the achieved results and the future goals of the brand, in front of an audience made of the leading press in the world. The presentation took place in an ancient crypt of the former Church of San Pancrazio, used as an exhibition space to chronologically align the main models of the house from 1836 to nowadays.

For the LUMINOR DUE model, Panerai reduced the thickness of the case to 10mm and has a diameter of 42mm. Compared to the classic Luminor from the 50s’, it is a reduction of 40%, emphasizing the importance of the classical elegance more than the sporty one. Moreover, there are a few model versions made from steel, with the case of 42mm, automatic movement and a power reserve of 72hours.
