    86th Pitti - Part 1

    The article - L'articolo
Pitti Uomo also this year opened its doors – from June 17 to 20 – after London Collections Men and Milan Fashion Week. Piano Attico of Padiglione Centrale has been completely renovated with some new emerging brands and also an old school barber serving lucky visitors. From the rooms of Villa Torrigiani to Fortezza da Basso, the 86th edition of the Florentine fair is still one of the most important places where the best brands and buyers gather together. This “big encountering” – as the insiders call it – is definitely the emblem of a new classic style for men and it holds as much – if not even stronger – influence as fashion weeks, also thanks to the “streetstyle” phenomenon, which has been reporting its evolution for some years so far. Among enthusiasts, insiders and professionals of the exhibitionism dressing up just for Pitti, the main role is still played by men’s elegance – which is almost the same from the 30’s till today – as opposed to that season-oriented extravagance characterizing fashion weeks. This year I had the opportunity to record a video for Pitti Web-TV along with Mr. Nick Wooster and Monsieur Jerome. I picked three "gentleman brands" explaining why I chose them.
Details of my bespoke suit made by the tailor Fabio Sodano: Solaro fabric from Caccioppoli; "Three-roll-two" jacket; 12-cm-wide peak lapels; three patch pockets; breast pocket sewn 21cm down the shoulder seam; sleeve bottom of 13,5 cm; three non-overlapping sleeve buttons; 31cm deep side vents; Trousers with double front pleats; 18 cm bottom, 4 cm waistband
