Some weeks ago I received this briefcase from the American brand Navali in order to post a review on the blog. I immediately appreciated shape, colours and fabrics of it, ideal for the city and those of us always on the move.

A conversation with... Simone Righi

Who: My name is Simone Righi, 50 years old, born a bred in Florence, the city that taught me the importance of observing the details and gave me the will to undertake a journey of pursuit of aesthetic. It’s an extremely elegant city, with significant peaks of fantasy. Pitti and the modern fashion were born here: both on the streets – populated by impeccably classy men – and in my house, where my mother used to cut elegant dresses for Florentine socialites and aristocrats. 

I have been doing this job for 25 years and I believe that it consists in capturing the desire of my customer, elaborating and interpreting it; as well as choosing and recommending the best fabric for the garment to be realized: whether it be a coat, a blazer, a suit, a shirt, a sweater or a glove…

Chi: Simone Righi, 50 anni, nato e cresciuto a Firenze, città che mi ha insegnato ad osservare e a dare importanza ai dettagli ed ad avere voglia di intraprendere un percorso di ricerca estetica. Firenze mi ha donato anche la memoria di una città estremamente elegante, con grandi ed altissimi picchi di fantasia. Il Pitti e la moda moderna nel mondo nascono qua ed io li ho vissuti sin da piccolo; sia per le strade, frequentate da uomini di vera impeccabilità classica, sia nella mia casa, dove mia madre creava abiti da sera, tutti pezzi unici, per le signore fiorentine e straniere che frequentavano la mondanità culturale fiorentina.

Il mio lavoro, che svolgo da ormai un quarto di secolo, è quello di catturare il desiderio del mio cliente, elaborarlo e portarlo ad esecuzione; scegliendo e consigliando il miglior materiale per l'oggetto che deve essere realizzato, che sia un cappotto, una giacca, un abito, una camicia, un golf, un guanto....
